IELTS (Exam Preparation)
The UniTAFE IELTS (International English Testing System) pathway consists of 240 hours of classroom instruction divided into three levels. The pathway can be offered both full-time and part-time.

Who should study IELTS?
- Secondary or tertiary level students or graduates who have the intention of studying abroad and who need an IELTS test result to meet the entry requirements for courses or the visa requirements of the Australian government
- Jobseekers or employees wishing to have an internationally recognised certificate of English language competence to improve career opportunities
What is the purpose of the course?
- To sit for the international IELTS test armed with the skills and strategies you need to maximise your test band score
- Obtain a band score commensurate with the level of the class you have completed
What will you study in the course?
The course is offered at three levels with a pathway from Lower Intermediate to Upper Intermediate. It aims to develop student’s existing English language skills and provide them with the skills and strategies required to maximise their test scores. The course is overseen by a certified IELTS examiner who monitors testing carefully to ensure that candidates are kept fully informed of current test developments.
How will you learn?
The teaching approach is communicative and learner-centred. Students are expected to participate in class and to complete homework assignments. A supportive atmosphere in the classroom helps learners to develop confidence and language skills. Ample test practice and feedback is given at all levels.
